Swallowing - Dysphasia

We offer programs to help those with dysarthria or apraxia of speech improve their communication and express themselves better through targeted treatment, training strategies, and environmental adjustments.

Whether your speech challenges stem from stroke, traumatic brain injury, oral cancer, or progressive neurological disease, therapy will focus on muscle retraining, breath support, and compensatory techniques to enhance your daily communication. Additionally, we offer guidance on acquiring and using augmentative communication devices for better effectiveness.

Speech - Dysarthria

Aphasia doesn't just impact the individual; it affects their entire support network. That's why we offer communication partner training for family members, friends, and employers to facilitate successful interaction with individuals with aphasia. Adults with aphasia may find it challenging to navigate daily communication and activities. Language therapy aims to retrain the brain's language centers and teach effective strategies to enhance communication.

As an advocate of the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia, we specialize in helping individuals engage in meaningful activities through tailored therapy.

Whether recovering from injury or managing conditions like dementia or Parkinson's, therapy can help you safely participate in daily activities and achieve your goals. Cognitive-communication therapy targets processes such as attention, memory, and multitasking, benefiting adults recovering from head injuries, strokes, or experiencing age-related cognitive decline.

Through rehabilitation and personalized strategies, clients regain independence and re-engage in work, social, academic, and everyday activities.

Cognition - Communication

We provide tailored strategies for voice and daily communication improvement, including specialized programs like Lee Silverman Voice Training (LSVT LOUD) for Parkinson's disease. This evidence-based treatment focuses on enhancing vocal loudness without strain. LSVT LOUD speech programs are effective for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological voice issues. Beginning therapy early is key, even before speech changes become noticeable.

Graduates of these programs can benefit from tune-up sessions to maintain a strong voice over time.
